Ezekiel saw people doing idol worship in the temple who said, "The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land" 8:12

When it seems like God is gone... we can do what He says is wrong?

It reminds me of children when they think the parent is gone....

What motivates me? 
God 'watching me' or my relationship of love and honour for him....?
