No good..... even a little bit?

 This morning I was reminded of the nature of man.
Reading in Psalms this morning
David declares that no one is righteous....
not one.
Psalm 53:3 Everyone has turned away,
they have together become corrupt;
there is no-one who does good, not even one.

It reminded me of Paul's amazing words of 
the work of salvation in the book of Romans
and in Chapter 3 he lays out that
ALL fall short on their own merit.

A reminder to me of the basics...
- Man is in bondage to the sin nature.
- He is incapable of breaking free of that.
- This nature is incompatible with a holy God

and yet....
....somehow in my Canadian culture
we are not so bad.
in fact most of us do lots of
GOOD....

Not so says God's declaration...
ALL are wicked
"There is no fear of God before their eyes....." Rom 3:18
and
"The wages of sin is
Death.... Rom 6:23

Lord Jesus,
The basics.
I need You
and without You
I am incapable of anything Good.
even when my society....
and yes, my own heart declare otherwise....
Reveal again to me
my 100% NEED
for You.

Yes.
