Don't give up, for More.

After work yesterday I lost my keys....    
Actually I forgot where I put them down. :P    
But I didn't know that.     
I looked on the road where I was walking,
I asked my wife if she had taken them...
I asked people who were around if they had seen them..
I went into an adjacent business to see if anyone had brought them in...
I searched through the lunch bag where I knew they had been..
I checked my pockets about 20 times... (just in case...)
I finally went right back to the beginning.
Where I was when I was getting ready to leave the shop.
And there they were. Sitting on my bench.
Whew.
Frustration, worry, puzzlement, frustration
embarrassment, awkward,
did I mention frustration....

Asking, seeking, knocking...
and ....Success.  :)

This morning I was thinking about yesterday's conversation
about having the 'mind of Christ'.
....I might have it
but I sometimes I don't experience it.  :(

I read an interesting instruction David gives his son Solomon
before passing on the kingship just before he died....
Super important words.
Last words...
'If you seek the Lord,
He will be found by you,
but if you forsake Him
He will reject you.' ref 1 Chron 28:9

Spiritual Maturity... not just an attitude...
- it is also an
Action.

David tells Solomon to seek and he will find.

Jesus tells me to
Ask
Seek
Knock
for His Holy Spirit...
and Father God will give..... ref Luke 11:9-13

Lord Jesus,
I know what asking 'looks like'
but how do I seek more of You?
Hmm...

- Yes, spending time with You...
....is there more?

Knocking...
....Persistence.

more of Your Holy Spirit
working through me...
Trusting, Asking, Relying...

Leaving behind, pushing in
intentionality, discipline,
ignoring distractions, unhealthy appitites....

O Lord,
You desire to give me more
and there is a journey of learning how to 'do this'.

Yeah!

Thank You for encouraging me
to not give up..
....for more of You.
