Knowing Authority

Today I was 'listening' to the Pharisees ask Jesus the source of His authority.  He gave them a test:
...."John's baptism - where did it come from?  Was it from Heaven, or from men?" Matthew 21:23-27

Simple..... see if they could or would:
a) Recognize heavenly authority
         and 
b) Submit to it

Fail on both counts....   

I believe the reason that such learned men missed it was, they weren’t actually seeking.  It was mental exercises.      Jesus' instructions are, 'Keep on asking, seeking, knocking'....  and God will give you revelation - Heavenly recognition.  Luke 11:5-13
