Red light, Green light.

This morning I was interested in the garb of the priests in Exodus 28  
In particular the Breastpiece.  
It was for making decisions  
it had the Urim and Thummim in it  
(some describe them as gems that glowed  
giving a 'green light / red light' - Yes/No indication)  

another name it was called was the 'Breastpiece of Judgement'....  

Whoa.
Judgment!

that's a loaded term.

No one likes to be 'judged' - you are a 'bad person'...
Everyone wants to have 'good judgement' - you have 'savvy'...

The connection that happened for me
was the Breastplate in Exodus
and the Breastplate in Ephesians
Part of the armour of the Spirit
the Breastplate of Righteousness.... Eph 6:14

The Righteousness of Jesus
The activity of God through me
Positive Actions resulting from motives that are
Upright and Good
from a transformed heart.

And from that place my decisions
can be made in 'good judgement'

Not with the Urim and Thummim
as cool as they must have been
but by the Holy Spirit
who speaks to me
in the moment.

Lord Jesus,
I love how the pictures and activities in the Old Covenant
actually foreshadow
the reality of the New.

Your Righteousness
over my heart
to make decisions
to Judge Rightly
in each moment...
...today.

Yeah.
