over the last few days
there seems to be a theme
on suffering....
and What God does in that place
Been reading Job
and I wonder about
the strange 'deal' Satan made with God in Chapters 1,2
This morning a phrase in 1 Peter caught my eye.
4:19 "So then, those who suffer according to God’s will
should commit themselves to their faithful Creator
and continue to do good."
Whoah.... that sounds kinda strange...
God's will that I suffer?
and I trust Him in that place....?
Hmmm
A little later in his letter Peter
calls the believers to
'cast all their cares on God
because He cares for them.'
and continues on to
calls them to resist the devil
who wants to destroy them
and that in the end
God will restore them
....after suffering for a little while.... ref 1 Pet 5:7-10
Hmm...
Suffering
Seems like it is part of the package
of Life
and death
on Earth....
....Believers
and
Unbelievers....
Hmmm...
My thoughts....
...that when God is allowing it
there is a purpose....
something else going on...
Something I don't see
A bigger story than just me...
and He can be trusted.
Sorta Easy words...
not so easy to Live out...
Satan - the destroyer
and the curse of Sin
ARE the source of suffering
I know that...
but God is allowing it....
Hmm...
Lord,
I find this hard to understand
Yet....
I trust You.
You came
and suffered Yourself
and You call me
to persevere
and
trust You will bring victory
and
Good
out of what is meant to
destroy.
I cling to that....
..to You...
today.
