Good day, Black Creek Church Family,

This week I was asked to help someone do something that was not in my 'comfortable' zone.

It was a job I wasn't too familiar with, in a different facility without all my tools, and with a person who is sometimes a bit demanding.

I was feeling like just hanging out and doing my 'normal' thing.

And then Holy Spirit encouraged me:

- to reach people I need to build rapport, and working along side them is a great way to do that.... even if it's not 'comfortable'.

It was a good reminder from Him, particularly as I have been praying for this person for quite a while.

In the end we had an enjoyable afternoon and re established our connection.

When I read Matthew 11:19  The Son of Man came eating and drinking,

and they say,

Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!

Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.

Jesus is criticized for mixing with the 'rabble'.

People outside of the 'religious box'.

People living in excess, addiction, self-focused....

It made me think,  "I wonder how Jesus felt about 'hanging out' with unbelievers".

Certainly, the religious leaders of the time cringed to think of doing what He did.

But I suspect that for Jesus, while it may not have been 'comfortable'... it was 'enjoyable'.

It was why he came to earth.  To connect men and women, boys and girls back to the Father.

He did that by intentionally inviting them into relationship - by being with them.

* Note from the Elders:

Thanks to all who attended the AGM on Sunday. It was a good turnout, and there was lots of questions and interaction.

It was noted at the time of the vote that two elders who were officers allowed their names to stand for another term even though they had served their maximum years.

We have been processing for some time the difficult decision on how to carry on without a treasurer and moderator.

These men offered to 'cover' for us until we could enlist more elders.

Many thanks to Sheldon who has served faithfully these last six years.

Please pray with us for men who are in a place in life where they can let their name stand and who are:

- Faithful attenders

- Financial supporters of the ministries of this church

- On the Membership roll

- Who are walking out their faith well in this season

* Note from the office re:

eTransfers:  Please include your postal address and full name information in the message box (or by separate email) if you are not listed in our current directory.  If Heidi doesn't have your information she is unable to provide a receipt for your giving.

Colossians 4:5    Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders,

making the best use of the time.

6  Let your speech always be gracious,

seasoned with salt,

so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Blessings as you step into 'uncomfortable zones' to build

relationships with those who God is laying on your heart.

You might even enjoy the time!
