Good day, Black Creek Church Family,
I hope no one lost their hat on Tuesday!
This week Donna and I were invited to a Christmas supper put on by one of my airport clients.
There were probably 15 or so workers plus spouses present.
One of the things that I found interesting is that the company owner
connected with most people there by being interested in their personal lives.
He intentionally took the conversations outside of 'work' to see what made people 'tick'.
In my case, he chose to talk to Donna and me about church and faith.
Decidedly not his most comfortable topic.
And yet....
He allowed himself to be curious enough about me to ask.
To listen.
And to tell a bit of his story.
So refreshing.
The disciple Peter encouraged those who were in difficult circumstances to be ready to engage the people in their world...
even if it was sometimes received poorly.
God is up to answering prayers. I had a very encouraging call this morning from someone who is in a difficult spot.
They are thriving because they are leaning hard on Jesus and seeing blessings in the small moments of their day.
Keep on interceding.
1 Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you will be blessed.
Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
15 but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy,
always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;
16 yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience,
so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
Change it up,
Be ready for interest
Ask some questions outside of the box.
Blessings as you push into a world that is actually curious about what you believe.
