Good day, Black Creek Church Family,

The term AI - Artificial Intelligence is big these days.

For some of us, it raises questions about job security, intrusion into private life, loss of capacity to think, and other concerns.

Last week Donna and I were invited to a campout with friends.

People we don't hang around with much but have grown to love over the years.

We connected.

We laughed.

We told stories.

We had fun and forged deeper bonds of friendship and love.

All without phones, internet, or other outside influences.

We just took time.  Went away, and hung out.

We shared meals, shared firewood,  listened, talked, took naps, did puzzles, went for walks, swam, fished and generally filled 4 days relaxing with friends.

Not difficult.

Not radical

But life giving

and 'grounding' for the things that bring substance to life and community.

It took someone to initiate and invite... (Thanks Ella)

and we needed to respond.... (not hard)

And then make it a priority to

do it.  (rearrange a few things)

*Note of Process:

Our Budget is approved once a year at our AGM.

If we have a significant change or need during the year we usually have a short meeting after a Sunday service to have members vote on how to proceed.

This spring we announced our intention and desire to bless the neighbour adjoining our property and maintain our own property by replacing the south fence.  The project stalled as only a small amount of money was received earmarked for the project.

Notice of meeting: We will have a short meeting following the service this Sunday in the sanctuary.  We will discuss and vote on the Elder's recommendation to allocate the remaining funds needed to carry out this project.

Reminder: This Sunday is a  potluck lunch - Everyone is welcome

Last name A-K please bring a main dish .  L-Z bring a dessert or sweets

Potlucks work best if everyone brings a bit extra.

Announcement:  I have had a request for Baptism.  If you are thinking of or know someone who is thinking of Baptism, let me know.

I was reminded to pray for our world.  For the many different crises and challenges.

Our Lord encourages us to do community.

To meet together in  Hebrews 10

23  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
24  And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25  not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

So good we don't need 'AI' to

get together and enjoy community.

The life Jesus has for us...

- Low tech, High 'humanness'.

Good for the soul.

Blessings on your week,

Peter Jackson
