This morning reading Habakkuk...
- in the midst of death and destruction
- in the midst of evil nations
taking over less evil nations...
Habakkuk sees God as his
Anchor....
'the righteous shall live by
His (God's) faith (fulness) ref 2:4
and Habakkuk's final words;
3:16 I heard and my heart pounded,
my lips quivered at the sound;
decay crept into my bones,
and my legs trembled.
Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity
to come on the nation invading us.
17 Though the fig-tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Saviour.
19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.
....In the face of the death
of all he holds dear
Habakkuk chooses to remain firm
in faith that God is the one to cling to....
The three men who defied King Nebuchadnezzar
said, God can save us,
but if He doesn't
we will still worship Him
He is worthy... ref Dan 3:16ff
Hmmm....
When all the information points to God
not looking after things.....
Clinging to Him anyways....
Because He is
God
and
He is
Good
Lord,
I bend my knee
to You
My Sovereign
My Lord
even when so many around
claim Your
absence
or
indifference...
I know
You are
True.
I stake my life on
You.
