Despised....?

This morning I was thinking about 
Glory from Men    
and 
Glory from God     
ref Jn 12:42,43     

John speaks of those who believe in Jesus 
but  
one group is 'held back' from God's presence 
by wanting Glory from Men 

seems easy to judge those guys as 
short sighted 
or even  
stupid!     

But in my culture
Living a Christian Life
is for the most part
applauded...

And I can have both

Glory from men
AND God....

What if I needed to choose?
What if following Jesus was so abhorrent
I was seen as a person of no moral fiber
or a criminal
or
worse....?

what if I was
Misunderstood,
despised by friends

Hmmm...

Lord, Thank You for a
country that still values
what You value.

but I do wonder....
how would I handle just pleasing You
and DISPLEASING others...

Hmm... I would rather not find out.. :P

O Lord, I choose again today
to honour You
and Your Word
and Your Values
even if it is
'unpopular'
or
...... despised....

Thank You Jesus
for reminding me
that at some level
that is
Normal.

I honour
You.
