This morning I was pondering a thought that bubbled up from this weekend.
Someone commented that they never seem to have enough time for devotions...
I was wondering...
How much time do I 'need'?
I mean....
What's the minimum required?
and then I was reminded that it is not a 'thing to do'...
but a way of intentionally growing a relationship....
If I asked a young man who was pursuing a budding relationship
with a young woman, "How much time to you NEED to put into this?"
He would probably look at me like, "Don't you understand ANYTHING?
I want to spend ALL my time with her...."
And Yet.... maybe after 10 or 20 years of marriage...
the answer would be different....
Hmm....
Yes, I need to be
Intentional
Yes I need to choose time with God....
or the rest of my day will swallow up the opportunity....
But I need to shift my mind from;
Gotta,
have to,
guilty if I don't .....
to...
Choosing to seek You out Lord,
intentionally giving you a part of my day.
Learning from You
cultivating
friendship
Father / sonship...
Creator / createdship
even
Master / servant....
because I know You are Good
You said, "My house shall be a House of Prayer"
ref Matt 21:13
talking
and
listening
has Always been important to You
Yeah.
