This morning I was reading how God
compared
the gods of Israel
(gods - small 'g' - other than Him)
That those god's Images
needed care and took effort to look after
while
He is the God...
...who carries the Israelites! Isaiah 46:1-4
In Chapter 49 He speaks of gathering His people
That He is watchful and doing it.
But
Their situation and perspective was that
they thought....
"God has forgotten us!" vs 14
God's response, " No I haven't..."
"I am more committed to you than
a mother is to her child....
In fact
You are engraved on my hand.
I am reminded of you every time I look at my 'hands'.
You are cut into the very flesh of my palms
and I did this myself!
I cannot
I will not
forget you." vs 15, 16
and I stopped there.
He did.
God allowed a Roman soldier
to drive a nail
into the flesh of his hands
for me
That I would
never be forgotten. John 20:19-28
Thomas' words
"My Lord
and my God!"
His wonder
His surprise
revelation
that Jesus
would never leave Him Heb 13:5
Thank You Lord Jesus
that not only will you
never leave me
and
You are my
burden bearer.
wow.
Yes,
Thank You.
