This morning I was interested in Jesus' challenge
to the disciples
on how to understand parables.
He told them that parables were actually
'designed' to hide truth from those not seeking
but He said,
"Don't you understand this parable?
How then will you understand any parable?" ref Mk 4:13
Hmm
Is there any keys to this parable
that help me understand any parable?
Hmm...
Observation:
The parable of the sowers
as Jesus explains / interprets it
is all about;
The Word of God
and the
Influences for or against
us choosing it's fruit.
those influences are:
- Satan
- Trouble / persecution
- Cares of the World
- Deceit of Riches / Wealth
- Desires for Things
- Acceptance Ref Mk 4:14-20
Interesting.
- Satan only factors in once.
Hmm
- STUFF factors a number of times
and
Acceptance is all that is needed.
not just once
but,
ongoing
continuously....
Luke puts it;
8:15 But the seed on good soil
stands for those with
a noble and good heart,
who hear the word,
retain it,
and by persevering
produce a crop.
Lord,
the Stuff of this World
You are warning me about
that I would set my sights on
Your Kingdom
Your Word
to transform
to bring eternal goodness
and change
from
death
to
life.
Thank You for reminding me
what it takes
and what to
be careful about.
Yeah.
