A few days ago I was pondering the life of David
as he struggled to stay alive as a fugitive from Saul.
(and didn't kill Abigail's foolish husband - Nabal)
After Saul died, one of his sons took control of a significant part of Israel
and 2 brothers took it into their heads to 'protect' David
and so killed Saul's son
....Then David could be king without contest....
When they appeared before David
hoping for a royal 'thank you'
David reminded them
That actually God was his protector (not them)
and that they were not 'saviours', but
murderers
and would die for their crime....
Ooops.
Read it in 2 Samuel 4
I find it so interesting that David
Held that the position given to Saul - Kingship
including Saul's son's dynasty...
was Sacred....
Protected by God
even though they sought to KILL HIM on numerous occasions
Yet
David rested in the place of God's promise
to put him on the throne
in God's own time.....
by God's own deliverance
from the many 'obstacles' that were stopping David
from being King.
Oh Lord,
That I would rest in You
and Your plans for me
as David did.
No 'open windows' or 'doors' to determine Your will
Just trust that You would bring it to pass.
You O Lord
are Great and Merciful
You teach me Your Ways
and call me to Lean into You.
I choose to do that
again
today.
Yeah.
