This morning I 'caught' the 'Golden Rule'
such a little statement
nestled in the middle of Jesus talking about
how we are Not to Judge.
for how we Judge
we will be judged...
and
Enter by narrow gate
for wide is the gate that leads to destruction
but narrow is the gate that leads to life...
and so
'Do unto others
as you would have them
do unto you'
is part of a 'bigger picture'
Part of a picture of
submission to God looking after judgement (instead of me)
Part of
looking after 'my stuff'
instead of 'managing' everyone else's...
and so In that context
Jesus tells me
that the 'Golden Rule'
is actually the SUM of all the prophets and law...
I need God to Look after my own stuff
and He doesn't need me (or want me)
to manage everyone else's (life, stuff, sin, problems)
Wow.
What that's a global changing concept.
I need God
I need to stop being God
Lord Jesus,
You came with words and works of Life
You came to set the captives free
from our ways of managing everyone else (destruction).
To live to You
Narrow
Focused
You alone.
I am called to Mercy and not Judgement
Thank You for reminding me
that I am not 'middle management'...
Yeah.
