The other day I was talking with a friend
about the Old Testament
and how it is a 'shadowed' picture of New Testament
truth.
In this morning's reading in Exodus as
Moses describes
the Ordination of the the Priests and
he also explains the incense
and anointing oil in Ex 30
7 "Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar
every morning when he tends the lamps.
8 He must burn incense again
when he lights the lamps at twilight
so that incense will burn regularly before the LORD
for the generations to come.
and
30 "Anoint Aaron and his sons
and consecrate them
so they may serve me as priests.
31 Say to the Israelites,
‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil
for the generations to come.
32 Do not pour it on men’s bodies
and do not make any oil with the same formula.
It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.
in the New Covenant
the incense is
the prayers of the saints ref
Rev 5:8
and the Oil is
I find this so interesting
How God put in place
practices
and
items
that are
physical representations
of
Spiritual truths
Things that are still not Obvious to me
because they are of the
Invisible realm
the spirit world
Lord,
Thank You for teaching me
with glimpses of
Eternity
I love how You
made physical representations
of Spiritual realities
so that I might
come to understand
more completely
what You are about.
Thank You Lord,
Father,
Son,
Holy Spirit.
