in the mess....

This morning I was reading Esther.   
Interesting look at a society ruled by 
a king that isn't particularly concerned about human rights... :(    

Life and Death were rather arbitrary. 
Make up the rules as you go along 
Need a new wife...?    
Abduct a bunch of virgins
and pick the one you like the best....

Whaaaat?...
These events are in the BIBLE!
Esther 1:10-2:4

And Esther was abducted
and trained
and EXCELLED
and was chosen
not only to be Queen - by the King
but also to be Saviour of her people
by God.
"For such a time as this...."
Esther 4:12-17

What impacts me is I don't hear
or see the "poor me" syndrome
I don't hear the questioning attitude of my world...
"Where is God in this evil mess?
He must not care....
he must not be real....
or maybe he is even Bad"

Esther and her cousin called out to God
and got on with the battle
of life.

And God moved in the MIDST of the mess

Lord,
I know You are Good
in the midst of Bad stuff.
I know You pick me up
when I am stumbling

Thank You for the reminder
that this is actually
Pretty Normal.

to meet me IN the mess.
Thank You for Your
Faithfulness
to do that.
