Just ask.

This morning I was thinking of
Missed Opportunity.....   

Jesus talked about his death and resurrection a number of times....
and the disciples kept wondering what he was talking about...
'rising from the dead'...... What?
They were 'afraid to ask'.....   ref Mk 9:10, 32   

Later on they asked him about 
what he meant about the end times 
and the temple being destroyed 
and he spoke at length about that.... ref Mk 13:3   

So.....

Why were they afraid?
What did they miss because they were?
What did WE miss because no one asked (and wrote it down)?
and...
What do I miss
because I don't ask...?
What would I ask?
What could I ask...?
What Should I ask?

Hmm...
He's Not a genie in a bottle
not a 'life answer man'
but
Lord of the Universe
King over all
and
the one who loves me most.....

What do I need to know to fill in the blanks?
to prepare me for today?
to feed my soul?
or even to ask for someone else....

Oh Lord,
You are good.
You fill my plate regularly
with Your words, Your thoughts
Your answers....

Do I miss them?
Do I miss learning
because I don't ask?

I want to ask more often
rather than wonder and move on...
I thank You for teaching me
day by day
moment by moment.

even teaching me
to ....ask.
