Listen.

This morning went for a walk in the park.
As I walk I listen to scripture,
enjoy the outdoors,
exercise my legs,
try to be observant (esp. for bears)
and Listen.... 

Listen to God 
What is He saying? 
What is He doing? 
What does He have for me
- in His word 
- in this day 
- in my present situations..... 

Jesus too walked
and listened
and got his instructions for the day.
He showed up where John was baptizing....
- Baptism was for 'sinners'
- Baptism was a sign of repentance
- Baptism was dying to the old,
coming alive to the new.

And that didn't
shouldn't
couldn't
apply.....
.....to Jesus.

And Jesus told John to Baptize Him.
The Lamb of God
The Holy One
God, Creator, Master of the Universe.....

John was appalled.
it should be the other way around....
Jesus should be baptizing HIM

Jesus said, 'do it.
....to fulfill all righteousness.....'

And when He came up out of the water
A voice from Heaven said,
"This is my Son,
whom I love,
with Him
I am well pleased."
see Matt 3:13-17

It didn't make sense
Jesus didn't NEED to be baptized
Except Father told Him.....
And that was all He needed to know.
and He did it
and
Father
was pleased.
....Well pleased.

Yeah.

Lord,
Thank You for our time together this morning.
Thank You for teaching me to listen
to step into Your pleasure
even when sometimes
it doesn't make 'sense'.
Yes,
Thank You.
