Today's scriptures included a text I often
'sorta' understood...
"Be perfect,
as your Heavenly Father is
perfect." Matthew 5:48
Looked up the word used for
'Perfect' - it means - mature, a finished work, complete in every area.
In fact the word was used of a machine that 'had all it's parts'... it was 'perfect' or 'complete'
Context? - loving the hard to love ref Matt 5:43-47
God loves those who are easy to love
as well as
the ones who 'don't deserve it'....
Perfect...
Consistent...
The same in every area...
Hmmm.... Puts a different 'slant' on
my understanding of what Jesus is calling me to....
Perfection
The Impossible?
or
In Him
the 'impossible'
becomes
not just possible
but
'normal'?
Consistent
Same with every person....
even the ones that are 'difficult'....?
Hmm
Jesus
As You live in me
I ask You to let me
See with Your eyes
Hear with Your ears
That I might
walk in step with the
Father....
and how he treats each person...
with
Kindness....
and
Mercy
and
Grace...
Yes.... Thank You.
