shhh.... don't tell... yet.

Over the last few weeks I have been keeping a secret...
a secret about a grandchild, yet to be born.... :)

and this morning I read
the Story of Joash...

Grandmother kills all his family
and he is hidden by friends of the family
in the temple from age 1-7
while Grandma ruled the country....  :(   ref 2Chron 22:10-12

Wow.  What was that like?
trying to keep a baby, toddler, young child hidden for years...
next door to the palace..

The priest in charge kept the secret...
'the King is hiding in the temple....'
crazy...

When to announce him?
When to put a stop to the insane woman running the country?
When to put a child on the throne?

Crazy times
Crazy risks...
What to do....?

So at the age of seven
Joash was ready to rule...
What!?...

and he did well while the priest Jehoiada was alive.  ref 2Chron 24:1,2

What a story.
Intrigue, danger, treason, coupe
and
God's promises
to a man called David
many generations before....

Carried out by hiding a baby in the temple

Kinda reminds me of another story of hiding a baby
in a stable, and then in Egypt...

Hmm...

Lord,
Your ways
Such an amazing story
children of royalty,
Crazy people trying to kill them
Yet You are still in control...

Thank You for reminding me
that in the midst of 
human choices

You still write the story....
