Suffering AND Glory.... what?

This morning I was reading of my new Life in Jesus...    
- His Righteousness   
- His Nature   
- His Authority   

and sandwiched in there    
...His suffering....     (Romans 8:17-39)    

His struggle to live on this planet He made
with the creatures He made
where death and decay
bruise and try to break
even Him, the author of life

somehow I don't think they can/should exist
in the same space
- The King of Glory.
- Suffering.

- Power.
- Weakness.

- Righteousness
- Temptation

And Yet...
They do.

The disciples didn't understand it...
This King
This Ruler
- suffer and die?
where is the victory?

and in my life
victory in Jesus....
the easy road....?
Jesus said it was actually narrow
and difficult Lk 13:23,24
and there would be suffering and persecution...
in the midst of
Victory....

Seems so counter...
...life...

And Yet this is the Kingdom
here on earth
The 'not-yet' reign of Jesus
King in my heart
but not yet in my
workplace
family place
even my head space at times...

and He says that's Normal
...for now.

So I need to
Expect it
not be surprised by it
push through it
and one day all will be
changed.
Earth AND Heaven!

Lord, You call me
to live as You lived
with the Spirit leading
empowering
even when being impacted
by the kingdom of darkness
Suffering in the midst of Your
beautiful, glorious,
abundant life
Thank You for teaching me
to look beyond
to look to You
to rest In Your finished work
now
and
one day.
