This morning I was struck by the hopeless view
of Solomon's life.
He had everything possible
EXCEPT a view of life after this one.
Salvation and the Good News of the New Covenant.
Reconciliation with God and man
Not by being Good
or wise
or rich
or powerful
but by being Chosen.
Ecclesiastes 2:13
Then I saw
that there is more gain
in wisdom than in folly,
as there is more gain
in light than in darkness.
14 The wise person has his eyes in his head,
but the fool walks in darkness.
And yet I perceived that
the same event happens to all of them.
15 Then I said in my heart,
“What happens to the fool will happen to me also.
Why then have I been so very wise?”
And I said in my heart that this also is vanity.
Even wisdom would not 'save him' for a better life after this one.
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for the view of life after this
for teaching us that what I do in this life
Does matter in the next.
and teaching me
That knowing You for eternity Makes All the differance.
....purpose to this sometimes confusing
or frustrating life.
Even Soloman
Great as he was
didn't have what you offer to children!
and
me. :)
Yes.
Thank You
Lord.
