Yes, No...... do it.

This morning I was thinking about
a little story 
that Jesus told....   

Father with 2 sons.   
He asked them both to do a task. 
The one said "NO" and then changed his mind 
and did it....    

The Other said "Yes" and didn't do it....   

Jesus' question was,
"Who did the will of the Father?"
and the answer was obvious to the listeners....
- the one who DID what his father asked.
ref Matt 21:28-32

The thought process is that
the Father is not looking for nice
WORDS
affirmative response....
but actual Obedience in ACTION.

In my travels in the last month I was in a couple of cultures
that try to PLEASE....
So the answer to the questions I asked was always a YES
even if the reality was not.....

Hmmm

Lord,
are my answers to Your questions
YES...
without thought to follow through....
I know my personality doesn't like to
disappoint....
Yet where am I
in the 'True Obedience Zone'...?

Lord Jesus,
help me to be real
and to listen to You
and then step into
what You are really asking...

Thank You for doing that
today.
