Good day, Black Creek Church Family,
This week I stepped into someone else's world.
They needed something done that has been overwhelming them.
I offered to help.
Interestingly, initially, their response was not one of thankfulness.
In fact they were pretty 'hard' and 'resistant' in our interactions.
Hmm....
What to do...
I chose a time that was not 'pressurized' and asked to have a conversation.
I mentioned that they seemed resistant to having help and that if there was anything that I could do differently I would try to accommodate.
That conversation changed the direction of the communication for the rest of the week.
Yesterday I got a thank you and smile on my way out.
I will be working through the task and it's implications in a few weeks....
But I know that we are working together and not at 'odds'.
I think the biggest change came when they realized that I wanted to help on their terms.... not mine....
and then defined how that might work out.

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus
