Good day hands and feet of Jesus in Black Creek and elsewhere,

 

  Someone felt bad when I needed a pen and the one they gave me was

from the church..... building.

I told them that it was OK to have a pen from the church... building

 

We buy the pens so that folks have something to write with if they want to take sermon notes.   

We also buy pens so that when they are found outside the building (like Campbell River Airport) it 'advertises' our presence in our community.

...actually spread into the community by the Good Folks of Black Creek Community Church..... 

 

But... it got me thinking.

How I sometimes think about 'the church' 

as a place

as a building 

as a spot on earth where Christians meet.

 

The funny thing is....

Jesus came to change that 2000 years ago.

Getting the Holy of Holies out of a building

and into people. ‍‍

 

WE are the church.  a vehicle for His Presence 

 

 1 Corinthians 3:16    Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?

 

This week nothing special is planned.
Just come, enjoy gathering, and look forward to spending eternity together!   

What a great thought. 

 

Please pray for those in our circle of care who are feeling impacted.  Especially at this time of the year.  

 If you are bringing food for the Word of Life Food Bank - Remember to have it at church... building by the 17th. 

 

We are the body of Christ  - it's even a Song!

 

It's also a shift in thinking...

 

In Ephesians 3 the word Paul uses for Church is ekklesia. - The gathered, An assembly of persons.

He tells us that God the Father uses the group of believers (us) to astound the spiritual realm with His purpose and wisdom.  

All on display -....Him living in you and me.

The church.

 3:8  To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, 

this grace was given, 

to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

9  and to bring to light for everyone 

what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God 

who created all things,
10  so that through the church (the gathered)

the manifold wisdom of God 

might now be made known to the rulers 

and authorities in the heavenly places.

 

Come, Gather,

You are the church

Wherever you are....
