Happy New Year, Black Creek Church Family,

Donna and I celebrated New Year's on Alberta time!

We had friends, appys and some games.

One of the things we talked about was; 'If you were just dreaming, what would you like to do in the coming year?'

I thought about that.   Just Dreaming....

If my 'God-influenced' dreams and imaginations were to happen, what would that look like?

And what would it take to see them become my experience?

I have always found the beginning of something new starts with

Asking

- Asking the Lord what He thinks about my ideas

- Asking myself what the cost is (there is always a cost) and if it is worth the outcome.

- Asking those in my circle what they think

This fall and, in particular, the last month has impacted me by the number of people in my wider circle who are struggling in relationships, particularly marriages.

I wonder what it might look like for them to ASK for a way forward into health, renewal, and restoration.

Luke records Jesus' instructions to seek out what God has for us.

11:9  "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

10  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
11  "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
12  Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13  If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Sometimes I am afraid to Ask.

Afraid of the cost

...what I will need to stop so

something new can start.

Moving from dreaming

to

Asking,

Peter Jackson
