Good day, Black Creek Church Family,

This week I felt disappointed and a little sad.

In two instances I felt 'let down' by people I was enjoying 'getting to know'.

One is a country and western singer turned TV personality who lifted up the life and values of caring. A God loving person. Billy Ray Cyrus - Doc

The other is a man who led the charge of bringing hope to children in Pakistan and Afghanistan by building schools for them. Greg Mortenson - Three Cups of Tea

In both cases, their failure was set up by character flaws that weren't 'cancelled' by the good things they were doing.

Both were living out some pretty amazing world-changing influence and impacts for good.

And they got taken out.

King Solomon - who was the wisest ruler of Israel was taken out too.

My disappointment and sadness in their failures is fringed with some fear

that I too might look back at and realize I missed some pretty big pieces too.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:12  All things are lawful for me,

but not all things are helpful.

All things are lawful for me,

but I will not be enslaved by anything.

13   Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food

and God will destroy both one and the other.

The body is not meant for sexual immorality,

but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Coming Up - Church outdoor service and picnic on June 16th (Father's Day)

Remember to get your picture taken  or update your info in our next Photo Directory after the service

Pray for those in your circle of care for God to make His presence known to them.

Paul also said in Philippians 1:6  And I am sure of this,

that he who began a good work in you

will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

9    And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more,

with knowledge and all discernment,
10  so that you may approve what is excellent,

and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
11  filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ,

to the glory and praise of God.

Lord, I ask for you to speak into my life

To open my eyes to the traps and gaps that I am not paying attention to.

Thank You that You promise to complete Your Good work in me.

Thank You that I can trust Your Word and Your Spirit

To guide me into Living well

All the way to the end...

Blessings as you walk into what He has for you this week,

Peter Jackson
