Good day, Black Creek Church Family!
I have been reading an interesting book on how our brains deal with (or don't deal with) trauma.
A significant part of reducing its impact is paying attention to my present 'space'.
Knowing where I am, what I am thinking about, and what is happening around me.
Though the catchword society uses for this is 'mindfulness', which is practiced in Eastern religions,
there is much to be said for
'mindfulness' that the Holy Spirit brings to my life.
Talking to Him, Listening, Reflecting..... PRAYER.
- Reflection on past actions
- Calm strategy for a way forward in difficult situations
- Awareness of my areas of weakness (guard)
- Awareness of my strength gifts - (opportunities)
and even waking up in the middle of the night remembering something I left undone on an airplane! (I let the owner know first thing this morning)
Pray for those in your life that need protection. Our Lord loves to be involved in the lives of those we pray for.
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I will say, Rejoice.
5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.
The Lord is at hand;
6 do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.
Blessings as you listen
and are aware
of Jesus' leading by the Holy Spirit.
