Good day Fellow Pilgrims of Black Creek and beyond,
This morning I woke up to the tune of 'Crown Him with Many Crowns'
....In my head.
I don't think I have heard that hymn for years.....
But there it was,
in all the glory and majesty of Christ.
Check out Chris Tomlin in concert singing some of this hymn
Last night I was in a small group
and as we unpacked a Psalm some of the words that have been put to music 'POPPED out'....
and I 'heard' them differently than just reading scripture.
What is this amazing connection to our King?
Music and words - connecting my emotions, mind, and... tear ducts
to a glorious picture or feeling of
Awe and Thankfulness
for Christ's work and saving life.
Worship -
in a home group
around a campfire
in times of celebration and grief.
Sunday mornings with friends
or sometimes those I don't know
I think it is a gift of community and connectedness from God
for my soul
And I sometimes I miss it
without knowing I miss it.
Psalm 100: «A PSALM FOR GIVING THANKS.»
1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
This week worship our king.
It helps make big things small
and little things significant.
Pray too for those in your circle of care.
Ask God to intervene, to bring hope, and to establish new paradigms.
