Good day Black Creek Community Church family,
I trust that this week you have been finding the transition to fall routine one that isn't too 'bumpy'
In the last few weeks, I have had some interactions with one of my clients.
High expectations without what I felt were appropriate preparations or time allocation....
that impacted me negatively - read: PRESSURE.
I wrote a couple of long emails to clue them in that I am not keen to repeat the experiences.
I haven't sent them.
A few reasons:
- They probably sound whiney (even though I had someone check for that)
- I don't want to rock their boat (they have lots of pressure in their lives too)
- I am not sure if this is more my problem than theirs.
Hmm... that last one.
What is my responsibility, and what is theirs?
How much do I invest for change that requires someone else to do something different.. when they don't see the need to?
What is God challenging me to change in my world, my mind, my heart?
What is my motivation?
Hmm.
Colossians 3:22 Slaves, (workers) obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
This coming week many 'fall' things are up and running.
Check the bulletin for the details.
Pray for those in your circle of care.
I love introducing 'the God factor' into situations that I have little or no power to impact.
This week step into someone's world to intentionally encourage them.
Ask the Lord what that might look like. (He probably has some amazing thoughts for them)
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron,
and one man sharpens another.
Lord Jesus,
Let the aroma of Christ be mine
In every situation.
Thank you for teaching me (including how long to wait before hitting <Send>)
Blessings on your week
