This morning I was again struck by a phrase Jesus used....
He challenged the way the Experts in the Law did things
and said that they had;
'Taken away the Key to Knowledge'
....They had 'Not entered'
and had hindered others from 'entering'....
I have probably pondered this before... but....
I was wondering what the 'Key" was
and what the 'Room' was that the key opened
that they 'had not entered'....
Some thoughts.....
I believe the KEY is;
Integrity with (self and) God
The next 2 chapters Luke records the 'fruit'
of Hypocrisy....
and Jesus warns them 3x very specifically.
ref Luke 12:1, 12:56, 13:15
Interesting way to state a 'fruit' of Hypocrisy....
is Loss of privilege to
Knowledge or the 'Room of Knowledge'
What is that 'room'?
What does it 'look like'?.....
Reading in the Context here are a couple of thoughts....
The Key to Knowledge is INTEGRITY
.....with the Holy Spirit.
Luke 12:10 tells them that if they aren't straight up
with the Holy Spirit.... it actually restricts access to Heaven....
I think that the 'room of Knowledge' is this access to Heaven
the Kingdom of Heaven....
Here
and
Now.
A bit later Jesus tells them that the Kingdom of God (Heaven)
is like....
A mustard seed....
Yeast....
A small door.... ref Luke 13:18-24
Little things that end up...
HUGE....
Hypocrisy
or
Integrity
Little things
that end up
Huge....
Lord,
Help me to listen well
as You teach me
about the
Little things.
Not to fixate or be consumed with details
but to recognize
that
compromise
and
rationalization
are the
enemies of
the 'Key of Knowledge'
....Your Holy Spirit's teaching me
about the
Kingdom....
I rest in You to do that
Today.
Yeah. :)
Thank You Lord
