Invitation..

I was thinking of a comment from a friend yesterday; 
"God is on your side."     

They have said that to me that a couple of times already.
kinda like I am 'favoured' by God  
I have 'His ear'...   
I am a 'special' friend of God..   
And he isn't...?    

hmm..

This morning I read a story Jesus told in Luke 14:15-24
A man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests.
- All the guests invited were favoured...
- The Master of the Banquet was 'on their side'....
but one after another declined the invitation...
this or that...
- busy
- other obligations
- not terribly interested (though they never would SAY that...)

so the Master widened the invitation
to anyone who wanted to come
the invite went out to all the people that are seen as 'low'
street people
homeless
beggars
disabled
unemployed
handicapped...
The master was 'for them' too....
The banquet was for them.

My friend,
does he know God is 'for him'?
but that he needs to accept the invitation....
that the cost is
leaving behind
his excuses of
- importance
- 'cool stuff'
- relationships with those
that would distract him from the invitation.

Lord,
You are for me.
and my friend.

Thank You for the invitation
for making a way
for extending Yourself

to me.
and to him.

Yeah.
