Lies...
A few days ago I heard a follower of Jesus
tell about life in contact
with people who condone, live out
even celebrate
a sinful lifestyle.
The 'interesting' thing is...
now this man has been publically challenged to
support that lifestyle...
and his silence implies
approval.....? :P
Oh dear... :(
Yesterday I read David's conundrum
- Enemies tell everyone lies about him
- Righteous men maybe think that David has joined the 'ranks' of 'sinners'
- David's 'bad example' will possibly discourage some from
choosing to live for God....
and David prays to God
that the lies told about him he would not be a
stumbling block to others.
Ps 69:6 May those who hope in you
not be disgraced because of me,
O Lord, the LORD Almighty;
may those who seek you
not be put to shame because of me,
O God of Israel.
7 For I endure scorn for your sake,
and shame covers my face.
8 I am a stranger to my brothers,
an alien to my own mother’s sons;
9 for zeal for your house consumes me,
and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.
10 When I weep and fast,
I must endure scorn;
11 when I put on sackcloth,
people make sport of me.
12 Those who sit at the gate mock me,
and I am the song of the drunkards.
13 But I pray to you, O LORD,
in the time of your favour;
in your great love, O God,
answer me with your sure salvation.
14 Rescue me from the mire,
do not let me sink;
deliver me from those who hate me,
from the deep waters.
15 Do not let the floodwaters engulf me
or the depths swallow me up
or the pit close its mouth over me.
Oh Lord,
I pray for my friend..
Your Son....
that truth AND lies be revealed
That he would be encouraged
And that as he seeks You
Others Will see through the sham.
Lord, Your ways ARE always right
I begin to see that Those
who Love You
face misunderstanding, derision
and even slander.
and
I ask that You encourage them
Today.
To keep walking strong in You
and Know that You love them
...are proud of them
no matter what lies seem to 'stick'.
Thank You Jesus.

When You endured the same.
