In the past I have looked at the interesting
foreshadowing of the Temple Solomon built
and the Temple our bodies are now.
Solomon asks the Question,
"But will God really dwell on earth with men?"
2 Chronicles 6:18
and at the end of his prayer
God answers...
'Fire from heaven came down
and consumed the burnt offering
and the sacrifices,
and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.'
and people responded,
"He is Good
and His love endures forever."
2 Chron 7:1-3
Yes.
And now I am a temple
My body contains God
Jn 17:20-23
But this morning I was thinking
how subtle
how easy
the switch....
From the contents
to the container
From God who dwells in the Temple
to the Temple building
or now my body....
Just as Adam and Eve
chose to be 'like God'
without God
So too I am a temple
designed for God to live in
but such an easy shift....
To look at life as
ME...
= empty...
or just filled with.... 'stuff' :(
Hmmm...
God,
when Your Glory shows up
I stop looking at the container
You have my full attention
for You are
Good
and Your mercy
endures
forever.
and You choose
to live in
me.
That's so Wow.
I am humbled.
Me
....a cracked jar
full of
You.
2Cor 4:6-12
Yeah.
