This morning I was listening to Song of Solomon

There is a phrase that repeats a number of times

Song of Solomon 2:7, 3:5, 8:4
Daughters of Jerusalem,
I charge you by the gazelles
and by the does of the field:
Do not arouse or awaken love
until it so desires.

In the midst of this intense emotional upheaval
the bride reminds her friends
that love is a path
that once started on
cannot be turned back from
without significant cost.

Love is not a whimsy
or a fling
but it will make deep furrows in the soil of the heart.

"Be careful", she says
"Don't go there
unless you are ready to;
- count the cost....
- life will not be the same again....

Hmm....

Lord,
Thank You for Love
thank You for teaching me
to respect
the force that it is
how it shifts life
how it costs much

I bless Your name
You guide my steps.
Yes.
Thank You Jesus.
