Ruler.... who?

This morning I was reminded of a propensity 
to blame God for 'bad stuff'    
and congratulate self for 'good stuff'    

I read a couple of proverbs that echoed some things I observed lately...   

Pv 19:3 A man’s own folly ruins his life,
yet his heart rages against the LORD.    

19:19 A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty;
if you rescue him,
you will have to do it again.   

As the 'middle child' I have this innate desire to
'Rescue' people from difficulties

But as these 2 proverbs suggest
that is actually impossible
when
there is a need for an internal change...
when
they are living life with the
fundamental flaw of SELF RULE.
- NO ONE can help them...

Hmmm...

and I am reminded that;
Self Rule creeps in...
and asserts itself
IN MY LIFE
without Me even realizing it.... :(

Lord Jesus,
Open my eyes to the flawed ways of thinking
in my own life.
To run my own life
is to lose.

Reminds me of your words in Matt 16:24-26

Open my eyes to see that Your ways
actually bring life
not Rules and Regulations

I give up
to You.

again.

Because that is where 
You begin.
