Safety First?

This morning I was thinking about a safety training course I just took....
Risk management...
and I was thinking...

....What would it look like to Pull that
into my 'devotion box'....
Look at 'safety' from that angle....
Hmm...
Very interesting....
- something that looks like a win (low risk)
- or a loss (high risk)
dosn't necessarily make it so....

The
'GOD factor'
actually
changes everything.

Abijah....
Called to a battle.
400,000 able fighting men
YES!... :)

Jeroboam - the Enemy shows up with 800,000
Oh boy. :(

as Abijah is negotiating with Jeroboam
they enemy closed in from behind
- Ambushed
- 50% resources
-> Done.
So done...
- Unless God were going to make something Godlike happen...

and He did
and 500,000 enemy men died.

So...
God - the 'Great I AM'
was one one side
and not the other...

Hmm... What's that all about....?

The way I read it
-> Judah honoured Jehovah God by
- Obedience to His laws
and Trust that He would be enough
even when 'smart people' would say otherwise....

And God honoured that.

-> Israel, their enemy, long since decided God was at best
a 'sidebar'
Option 'Z' in the course of daily worship and obedience.

Options 'A' were:
- Self
- Commerce
- the god's of those around them
- Idols of convenience
were the 'religious menu' of the day.
and came BEFORE acknowledging Jehovah.

Jehovah God didn't seem to make any 'material' difference...
So why bother?

And God didn't honour that.....

Hmmm....
- it lost Jeroboam the war...
several million people lost husbands, sons, brothers..... :(

Sooo.... from a strictly risk management / safety standpoint.

Serve Jehovah God...

Really?

Is God the 'fix' for problems at DND?
I don't think that is really the issue
.... and it is....

The point is that
when my society is focused on
Jehovah God and His Kingdom
all these other things actually will be looked after.
Really. Matthew 6:24-34

Not cool philosophy or smart brains
Just
One Master
One God, my Creator, Awesome in Power
His Care for me
His Covering for me
Him Looking after me
In the MIDST of crisis.
Even when it doesn't go the way I think it should (see Joseph in prison)

You God.... my First line of defense?

Hmm....

Lord,
this is a 'novel' way of looking at
'Safety'
But then
David did it.
and many since.
-> Serve You First.
You, Commander in Chief.

CFO
and all those titles...
actually... make you ....LORD
