This morning I was reading about
the glory and awe around the old covenant
- stones marked with the finger of God
- God's face not allowed to be seen by any living man Exodus 33:12-23
and then I read about the New covenant in Paul's 2nd letter
to the Corinthians chapter 3....
"For what was glorious
has no glory now
in comparison with the surpassing glory." 2Cor 3:10
as we are 'transformed into His likeness with ever increasing Glory'.... 3:18
Kinda reminds me of when I had a bright new headlamp
for work in the shop.
It just made everything easier to do.
Didn't have to strain my eyes
Didn't have to wonder what was in the shadows....
Then I borrowed a friends lamp one day.
twice as bright
bigger beam
it was great....
greater situational awareness, less shadows...
then...
I had to go back to my 'old' light.....
Not so shiney and new
Not so nice
In fact.
I went out and bought a light just like my friend's
because it made inspection
and general work so much easier.....
the old bright
was actually dim....
Lord,
Thank You for reminding me
What might seem good about the Law
doesn't 'hold a candle' to
Restored Relationship with You
Continue to remove the veil on my heart
that I might be 'shine brighter' with You inside
Transformed
into Your image.
Yeah.
