After I wrote my thoughts about
Sin and Hell yesterday
I was challenged by God....
'How does this need to change my
way of thinking?'
What difference will the reality of Sin and Hell
make in my life
and how I relate to those who don't know Jesus?
God reminded me
to keep my Perspective
I need to remember that:
- He loves every person
- He does not want any to perish
- He has made a way - He has launched a rescue.
And this morning He reminded me the other side:
- That many will try their own rescue
- That many will deny the need for rescue
- That many will search and miss the mark...
Jesus reminded me of this:
Matt 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate.
For wide is the gate
and broad is the road
that leads to destruction,
and many enter through it.
14 But small is the gate
and narrow the road
that leads to life,
and only a few find it."
I remember as a child hearing those words
and thinking that 'I need to be one who
finds that little gate...
I want to be one of the ones
who walks that narrow road.'
I looked up the word used for NARROW.
It actually isn't so much narrow...
but;
Squeezed,
pressured,
troubled,
afflicted
Lord,
Your way
not the easy
or 'wide'
but the way that only those who search for
find.
And I pray for that hunger...
for my friends who don't know You....
Hunger to search...
because You said You would be
found
by those who seek.
I pray for me to see Your
opportunities
to be
Your 'invitation' to them
for life
I recognize my own need
to persevere
and
walk this narrow, squeezed, sometimes
troubled road
that leads to
Life.
Thank You Jesus
For rescuing me
and helping me
find the gate
and walk the road.
Yeah.
