Good day Black Creek 'People of the Word',
This week I noticed a pattern that sometimes (in) forms decision-making for me.
- Gather facts and data
- Evaluate the pros and cons
- Pray for God to give direction
- Put off making the decision as long as possible.
Then move forward based on my 'gut feeling'.
When I look at that I ask myself...
Is more information better?
How important is evaluating if the final decision is a 'gut feeling'?
Is waiting procrastination or wisdom?
How do prayer and God influence the 'equation'?
How is faith in God a part of data and logic?
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s mind plans his way,
but the Lord directs his steps [and] makes them sure. AMP
Next Sunday, Oct 22 at 4:00pm - Christmas musical practice begins
Saturday, Nov 4h at 10:00 am - is the Shoebox packing party
Please continue to be steadfast in prayer for those in our midst who are in difficulty.
I am not sure if you follow a similar pattern to make decisions,
It's not always a step-by-step process, but often all the steps together.
I find that each part of the process helps me be more confident that I haven't missed anything 'big'
by considering different angles and perspectives.
Throughout is a sense of God presence, what is right and wrong, Holy Spirit guiding me - listening to His voice
including seeing Him 'move' and 'direct' me in different ways.
Trusting that He is in each part of the process.
Proverbs 19:20 Listen to advice and accept instruction,
that you may gain wisdom in the future.
21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.
I trust that you know God's leading you as you step into the rest of this week.
Walk with Him,
Peter Jackson
