This morning I was thinking of the paradox
of being loved and in relationship with God
and
facing difficulties
which sometimes results in being seen as a 'foolish believer in God'....
:P
Jesus - the ultimate example of
man in relationship with God
was mocked for that very reason....
'Aren't you the Christ?'....
...If you and God are so close.... why is this happening to you!?
ref Luke 23:35-39
David too suffered and it was attributed by his persecutors
to the God he served...
In fact they turned his difficulties into disgrace
and foolishness...Psalm 69
so much so that David lamented that his 'disgrace' might
make other followers of God stumble and feel shame. vs4-7
I often hear that God must be the source of someone's suffering...
So why serve Him?
Why have a relationship with Him?
David attributes his troubles to:
personal failures
and
those around him who do not honour God...
David in the midst of the crisis
remains committed to God as being the ANSWER
not the Problem. vs 30-36
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your constant
help
in the midst of life's struggles.
Thank You for meeting me there.
I call You my saviour
Your name on my lips
Is like Honey from the comb...
Your presence - a soothing balm
- peace to my soul.
Yea Lord
You are my rock
and shield....
Yes.
