Wonder of the Word

This morning I noticed
the "Word of God".

IT came to John the Baptist in the wilderness....
What was that?
Old testament 'spoke' to him?
Isaiah's words 'popped' for him.... ref Lk 3:2-6

and it anointed him
and propelled him
and instructed him
on what to say and do.

The herald
and preparer of God's people
Launched by words spoken 500 years previous....

and shortly after Jesus came
- was revealed
- went into the dessert
and 3 times quoted scripture
His response to Satan's statements.... ref Lk 4:4,8,12

The Word of God
quoting
the word of God....

Old Testament
the only 'bible' they knew
speaking
God's words....

Lord Jesus
You are THE Word
Yet You used
the word....

Your revelation to mankind
congruent
to Your person
used to Address your enemy
used as Your defense.

Thank You for the blessing
of growing up with access to
YOU in scripture.

Thank You for reminding me
how important it is
to Know You.
...in the word....
